Disko Line can change a scheduled service if there are no passengers to the other destinations and thus shorten the timetables. Disko Line can cancel a scheduled service, if less than 48 hours before departure, no passengers have been booked for this particular departure. To obtain a confirmed trip, your booking must be made at least 48 hours before departure.
Cancellation of sailing depends in each case on a specific assessment from the captain. 4.6.B Cancellation or change of trips with Disko Line Explorer (day trips and excursions)

In case of cancellation, we offer an alternative trip. If participation in this new departure is not possible, we will cancel and refund the total amount paid. In addition, no claim for damages can be made against Disko Line.

In the event of delayed baggage, Disko Line pays DKK 500 per day, per passenger as compensation. However, this is limited to a maximum duration of 3 days, i.e., a maximum of DKK 1,500 per passenger applies.
Disko Line has 30 days to locate the delayed baggage before compensation for baggage can be paid. Disko Line follows the set of rules for "The airlines' liability in relation to passengers and their baggage" which are the aviation's international compensation rules. The maximum compensation that can be obtained for lost baggage is SDR 1,131, which corresponds to approx. DKK 9,530.
4.7.E Baggage lost, damaged or destroyed
In the event that your bag / suitcase is damaged during transport with Disko Line, this must be reported immediately to our staff on board, and at the latest before leaving the ship. If the damage to the bag / suitcase has not been reported to the staff before leaving our ships, Disko Line is not obliged to replace the damaged bag / suitcase.
In the event of damaged baggage, Disko Line staff are to assess on arrival, whether the baggage can be repaired or if it needs to be replaced.
Disko Line is not responsible for minor damage caused by normal responsible handling. The passenger is responsible for ensuring that the contents of the baggage are properly packed to withstand ordinary baggage handling.
Before you report a claim to Disko Line, we recommend that you first contact your own travel insurance company. As a shipping company, Disko Line has access to limit its liability, which the insurance company does not have, just as the insurance company will be able to help you keep in touch with Disko Line.
Disko Line assumes no responsibility for sensitive or perishable items. Likewise, we cannot take responsibility for things which are not properly packaged. We are not responsible for loss of, damage to or delayed delivery of items that are easily damaged, e.g. (but not limited to) money, jewellery, silverware, electronic equipment, securities or samples.
The liability for destroyed, lost or damaged baggage is assessed up to SDR 1,131 (SDR 1 = approx. DKK 9). In the case of baggage that has been checked-in, the company must pay compensation, regardless of whether it bears the responsibility. However, this does not apply if the baggage already had defects. If this concerns baggage that has not been checked in - for example hand baggage - the company is only liable for damages when the liability is due to errors on the part of the company.
If you travel with items of higher values, you must have separate insurance with your own insurance company.
4.7.F Lost property
Inquiries regarding lost property (personal effects which have been forgotten on board our ships) should be directed to the shipping company on tel. (+299) 94 53 00. Lost property is stored for 1 month, after which it is handed over to the police. Forwarding of lost property is at the owner's expense.
4.8 Transport of live animals
It is permitted to bring a dog, a cat or a rabbit on board the ship. A prerequisite for transporting animals, however, is that they must be transported in a cage approved for that purpose. A piece fee is charged per dog (DKK 500), per cat (DKK 100) and per rabbit (DKK 100) regardless of distance. A ticket for each animal must be ordered min. 48 hours before departure by contacting Disko Line in Ilulissat. Disko Line has the right to reject dogs, cats and rabbits if the space conditions do not allow this.
